‚ÄčCharles Carter's image  above is being utilized for all of  the marketing materials for the 27th Monterey County Artists' Open Studio Tour.  He will be featured as # 10 on the location key.  His original painting will be on display at the Walter Avery Art Gallery in Seaside CA.  It is located at 440 Harcourt Ave. Seaside CA. The Kickoff Gala Event held at the Harcourt Ave. address above will be onThursday September 14th from 6-8 pm.

my story

Arizona, Phoenix, Scottsdale

Charles was born in Phoenix, AZ where he developed a love of the arts at a very early age.

He excelled in art classes in primary school and High School.  He was also selected as the lead in the musical play Bye Bye Birdie as Conrad Birdie. 

Japan,  Misawa

Charles studied jewelry design and construction.  He also excelled in Japanese block printing, while in the US Navy.

Master of Color

  • Charles' painting of "Dona Marie" is a finalist for the summer exhibition at the Royal London Center for the Arts in down town London, England

  • Charles is currently showing in both, Plus Olive Interiors and Venture Gallery in Monterey CA.

  • Charles has had a second one man exhibition at The Pebble Beach and Tennis Club in 2014.

  • Charles has exhibited in 4 galleries in Carmel, CA.

  • Charles was accepted to the world renowned Sausalito Art Festival in 2014. 

  • His painting Dona Marie in Big Texas Hat was selected by Gentry Magazine Palo Alto  as a show piece for the Palo Alto Arts Festival.


California, Monterey

Charles has been painting for the last 15 years in Montery, CA where he resides with his wife Char.

  • Charles has had six exhibitions, in local galleries and has won  national awards,  as a finalist in Art Comes Alive Cincinnati, OH.  Was sellected as one of the top 50 emerging artists in the world by Art Business News, New York in 2012

  • Charles had a one man exhibition at the Beach and Tennis Club, Pebble Beach, CA in 2013

Arizona/Mexico City

Charles was accepted to the college of Architecture at the University of Arizona,  Charles graduated and while in attendance he was an exchange student at La Salle University in Mexico City. 

Houston Texas

Charles moved to Houston where he worked for the Klein Partnership and also worked for a foremost archtectural renderer Pat Lopez, who produced work for world renowned architect Phillip Johnson and Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill.
